Battery related articles and guides discuss topics that have at least some relationship with the not only trolling batteries, but the batteries and related technology in general.
Here is the list of our battery articles and guides that some of our visitors may find very useful.
Cars' batteries are charged via onboard alternators combined with the control electronics and generally, they are not charged outside the vehicle.
However, from time to time, one has to remove them from the vehicle and charge them using a battery charger. Thus, many people ask how long does it take to charge the car battery at, let's say, 6 Amps?

Conversions from HPs to Watts and vice versa are often required when dealing with batteries and marine/automotive applications, but may lead to errors, since there are several definitions of Horse Power (HP) and the amount of power that it represents.
Here is the list of the most popular and most commonly used Horse Power (HP) definitions and their equivalent values given in Watts.

Trolling motors are commonly used as means of propulsion on kayaks of various sizes, especially on fishing kayaks, intended for longer fishing trips that last for hours and sometimes even for days.
The main issue any kayak owner has is the kayak's load capacity. While electric trolling motors are lightweight and feature excellent weight to thrust ratio, their batteries are anything but light - unless lithium kayak trolling batteries are used.

Fish finder batteries for kayaks and smaller boats must be lightweight and compact, but accept charge quickly from various sources, and should be able to power the fish finder during the entire fishing session without the need to be recharged before going to shore or starting the main engine (if present).
Fish finder batteries are spill-proof AGM and Gel-Cell lead-acid batteries and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. Most fish finder batteries feature nominal capacity in the 5 - 20 Ah range.

Wet/flooded, gel-cell, AGM and lithium 12V 100Ah deep cycle batteries are a very popular group of deep cycle and dual-purpose batteries, offering relatively large capacities (100+ Ah), a large amount of stored energy (1200+ Wh), and large discharge currents at acceptable price and weight.
Due to the maintenance requirements, wet/flooded batteries are used rarely, with the SLA Gel and AGM batteries being most common. Also, lithium 12V 100Ah batteries are getting more and more present on the market, offering huge weight savings.
